Will Slater

Creative content specialist

Will is the lead copywriter at 43 Clicks North, a performance marketing agency in Hull in the north of England. He's a big fan of human writing, less of a fan of AI writing. Although he will concede that it can be a useful tool. Sometimes.

More importantly, he has made a lot of mixtapes so he has a very clear understanding of precisely why human-curated mixes are infinitely better than algorithmically generated ones. And equally why human written content will always beat AI generated words.

Be more mixtape: why you shouldn't use AI to write (and what to do instead) (ENG)

Mixtapes were packed full of love and stories. Algorithm generated playlists are not. And using AI to write is a bad idea for similar reasons.

It’s not very good. It’s getting worse. Outsourcing your writing is outsourcing your thinking.
So you should write and make mixtapes yourself. Some tips:
- Use your experience, and empathise with your audience.
- Write about what your audience wants to know, not what you want to say.
- Keep your writing simple and easy to process.

This talk’s for anyone that writes. Because AI is rubbish at writing. But you’re not.
